In less than a single lifetime, North America has lost more than one in four of its birds. Since 1970, long-distance migrants have declined 30%, including losing 2 in 5 Baltimore Orioles – our very own state bird. Birds breeding in eastern forests have suffered a 17% population loss, including 6 in 10 Wood Thrush – the official bird of D.C.
The Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership (MBCP) is a coalition of organizations who have the collective expertise and experience to stabilize declining bird populations through conservation, research, citizen science, and community engagement. Our mission is to maintain and enhance native bird populations and their habitats through partnerships and community action for the enjoyment and enrichment of current and future generations.
Your donation will help us sustain the collective success of the partnership, or you can boost the effectiveness of one of our individual programs.
The Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership seeks to connect birds, habitats, and people throughout Maryland. Join MBCP and other Marylanders in giving birds one united voice and helping secure their future, and ours.
